I am a late forties kayak racer. My goal is to compete at the World Masters Games in Turin, Italy in 2013. I will be racing in ICF sprint kayaks. This blog will be my training diary for the next 4 yrs. I use a variety of running, weights, and cross training to hopefully become a better kayaker.

Two Days till First Tuesday Night Race

Well it is two days to go before the first Tuesday night surf ski race of the season.

This year should be the best yet, since it is Deep Cove's 10th Anniversary of the the TNRs. Two surf skis are being given away this year. Both Think kayaks and Epic have pitched in to supply the skis. Kudos two both of these companies for their contributions.

The first race is always a good one. You get to meet up with people you have not seen in the past six months, and you get to see the new skis that have been purchased. This year there are the new Epic V10 elites and super elites, the Think Legend, as well as a Robberg Express, coming to the races.

As always there is the after racing get together at the Raven Pub in Deep Cove, for good food and to watch the race video.

So if you are in town from now till the end of September, drop in on the races. If you don't have a boat, Bob has a huge selection to chose from. (Just make sure you call before hand, as they go fast) The cost for the race is $3, (rentals extra) and starts at 7pm.
